The loss of Vance Boyd in December 2025 left a profound void in the lives of so many people. On Father’s Day 2026, mother-and-daughter duo, Annie and Stacy, honored his memory in the most fitting way: by returning to one of the simple pleasures he had come to love most later in his life—painting.
They gathered canvases and acrylics, put on a Nat King Cole playlist, and began to paint. What started as an afternoon of remembrance soon became something more. In that moment, the idea for Fancy Vance Fineries was born.
"EVERYBODY IS GIFTED WITH SOMETHING. SOME SINGING, SOME DANCING...GOD BLESSED ME WITH MY TASTE... NOW THAT'S A TALENT!"
-VANCE BOYD
With his unmistakable Southern drawl and decidedly formal manner, Vance had little interest in being called “Papaw.” He insisted that his grandchildren call him “Grandfather,” a title as distinguished and traditional as the man himself. It was quintessentially Vance—formal by nature, yet warm in a way that made the name feel entirely his own.
A creative spirit and devoted lover of beautiful things, their father and grandfather leaves behind a legacy defined by impeccable taste, steadfast hard work, and, above all, an appreciation for beauty in its many forms. Fancy Vance Fineries is a continuation of that legacy—a celebration of the beauty he noticed, cherished, and inspired in those around him.
